{"id":3437,"date":"2024-03-25T12:19:06","date_gmt":"2024-03-25T12:19:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/editorial.arquitecturacatalana.cat\/rutes\/tortosa-una-barana-al-riu\/"},"modified":"2026-06-11T10:52:58","modified_gmt":"2026-06-11T10:52:58","slug":"tortosa-una-barana-al-riu","status":"publish","type":"rutes","link":"https:\/\/editorial.arquitecturacatalana.cat\/en\/rutes\/tortosa-una-barana-al-riu\/","title":{"rendered":"Tortosa, a railing on the river"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An urban itinerary through the architecture that lines both sides of the Ebro River as it passes through Tortosa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Evoking the time when this fertile communication route, dedicated to trade and full of life, became the main street of the city, we let ourselves be accompanied by the fa\u00e7ades of the Passeig de l\u2019Ebre and, in particular, the Rambla de Felip Pedrell, where buildings that have struggled to find a place and make their mark stand out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the municipal park that displaced the historic shipyards to the Ferreries shore, to the old Art Nouveau slaughterhouse \u2014built on land reclaimed from the river\u2014 and passing by the controversial municipal markets, all these buildings have sought the panoramic and narcissistic privilege of being reflected in the Ebro. Like elevated streets connecting both banks, the railway bridge and the State bridge delimit this architectural showcase dotted with interventions of various trends and pretensions, allowing us to read and understand the urban evolution of this city that was born and grew along the river.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"pld-like-dislike-wrap pld-custom\">\r\n
